Ok, so my garden is nowhere near where I'd like it to be. Truth be known, my whole Alternative Suburbia dream is nowhere near where I'd like it to be!
But tonight we ate stuff from the garden, and that makes me happy.
Nothing huge, just an eggplant and some basil, mixed with a jar of passata and some pasta. We didn't have a lot of money this week, so I'm raiding the cupboard to make a decent meal. So while I'm still working on providing the staples, the eggplant and basil certainly made a tasty contribution to dinner.

...and think of the nutrition provided from your garden that probably wouldn't be there with a supermarket eggplant. :)
I think some of the best meals come from the times when we raid the dregs of the cupboard and then the garden pitches in. We had a tomato and herb soup and I made a pot of homemade beans. And believe it or not my garden produced some beautiful truss tomatoes! Yum! (Well at least I can forgive myself a little for letting it go wild out there now! LOL)
I will have to get very creative this week. We now have no car for at least a week and I kept putting the shopping off! Woops!
So true Karisma. It certainly brings out the creative side!
